Driving on the Beach
Don't try this at home (or in unmarked areas). There are several locations where you can drive on the beach. Watch out for buses and whales.

The Boardwalk
Be sure to enjoy the half mile Long Beach boardwalk. There's plenty of benches, displays, views, and eating areas along the way.

Horse back riding is another fun option that you'll want to look into.

Port of Ilwaco
The nearby town of Ilwaco's marina is always worth a visit. While you're there, check out the charter fishing opportunities.

Fort Canby State Park

While you're in Ilwaco, you'll want to visit Fort Canby State Park. There, you'll find the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, as well as the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse and the North Head Lighthouse.

Southeast of Ilwaco you'll find Fort Columbia Historical State Park. This military post served as a defense site in both World War I and World War II. The Interpretive Center there offers views of both military life at the fort, as well as the Chinook Indian culture.

Sunset
No trip to the beach would be complete without a moonlight stroll on the beach. Make it a fitting end to a day filled with museums, shopping, antique shops, and galleries. While you can prepare your own meals in our fully equipped kitchens, you'll also want to visit some of the area's fine eating establishments.
